One of the special delights of this area are the Byzantine monasteries and tiny churches throughout the area. Many are open and with lovely frescoes. Tim has a lifetime of experience hiking in the Pindos, and amazing dedication to keeping the ancient paths open, machete in hand! I hope the book encourages lots more people to discover these wonderful mountains.
